Hello, Molly here (and over there, and there too. And on the next page.)
I started this blog just about six years ago, back in January of 2006, just after the dramatic conclusion of my second pregnancy. That day is also known as my son Jackson's Birthday. This first paragraph once made sweeping statements about a variety of life topics that were completely set in stone for me, including the absolute sureness of our family size, blah blah blah, aaaaaand surprise baby number three, all is again up in the air. These days the only thing that is set in stone for me is that absolutely nothing is set in stone, and I have come to like it that way.
I began this blog so many years ago to appease family and friends who were looking for daily stories and pictures, and it has grown to what it is today: A Blog Full of Stories and Pictures.
I am a wife and mother of three (three children, not three husbands, that is) and an elementary school teacher by profession. And once I had been away from that career for long enough, our family dove head first into the deep end of the Homeschool Pool. I love it all the way to my toes, as do my children. We have no plans for how long we will homeschool, but take it one year at a time.
My boys, KJ and Jackson, were born in September of 2002 and New Year's Day of 2006 after some real fun with infertility and pre-eclampsia. Then, repeat declarations of no more kids, except for when we weren't so infertile after all, Marin Ann, September 2008. And a happy, healthy pregnancy to boot.
I love reading to my kids, taking walks on crisp Autumn afternoons, redecorating at home, photography and painting, sewing and quilting, hiking and traveling, and eating freshly baked french bread smothered in ice cold butter.
Throughout 2006 and 2007 I managed to lose almost 100 pounds through a lot of hard work and a smidge of exercise, and am currently (to infinity) working at re-losing some of that, post-pregnancy. Let's just agree that I (still) had that baby yesterday...and give me time. Unless you offer peanut m&m's to me. In which case thank you. And you're not helping my cause.
Also around that very same weight loss time period came the Great Collapse of the American Real Estate Market, also known as The Time We Tried And Failed At Selling Our Home. It was an interesting time to be a reader, and you can grab the backstory here. We ended up with two houses for three almighty years, and finally in December of 2010 sold the little place to some fantastic newlyweds.
(High fives all around.)
I love God in all forms, and Oprah and coffee house music, and reading book after book. I work towards becoming the best version of myself every day, and I am ridiculously motivated. I love coffee, hate gum, and clam up in most social situations. I am working on it.
I am a go-getter and a perfectionist, believe in taking every opportunity to get ahead in life, and that education (in all forms) is the way to get there. I don't sit down much, and I never get enough sleep.
I plan to soon travel to Africa, someday become a writer or teacher or lover of life by profession, and later retire with my wonderful husband near a large body of water. I hope to raise wonderful children who will continue the passionate work of making this world a beautiful place.
