...that Marin's procedure went over as well as could be asked for yesterday. She is home, she is definitely out of sedation, and she is happy again.
...that we can easily walk into our nearby, top-rated hospital and have our child cared for by extraordinary doctors, and thanks to the insurance provided by Kevin's job, we aren't even crushed by medical bills. A blessing that is never lost on us.
...for the friends and family who have drawn closer to us in recent months, forever offering their love and support in our first step of a journey that will last a lifetime.
...for the time KJ and I have spent together recently, teaming up on our video game-- and not loving the actual game half as much as loving the high-fives and bonding time with my boy.
...for being able to eat every single day, and feed my family, and shower in warm clean water at will, and spend my nights in a comfortable, safe bed. For the freedom and the ability to mother my children in the ways that I choose.
...for wondering why my middle child acts like a goof for the camera.
...and for knowing the answer, plainly.
...for the understanding of what it means not only to be a citizen of our tiny town and our little country, but what it means to be a citizen of the world. To have eyes opened, and to see God's hand in all of it.
...for my husband, who after nearly thirteen years together, still emails me at random times during the day to tell me he heard a song that made him think of me.
...for Chocolate Teddy Grahams and low-cal Cool Whip. Nuff said.
...for quiet afternoons, and for long talks about nothing much with girlfriends I love.
...for sunny days post snowfall.
...for not only the belief, but knowing for sure that when we are given much, much is expected of us. And that when we give, we receive even more in return and can then extend even more.
...for Sant and Leslie who remain intimately involved in our day to day life-- who are there for all five (six) (seven) of us always.
...for the author of one of the books I am currently devouring, There Is No Me Without You, and for the familiarity she brings to both the beauty and heartache of a country growing dear to me.
...for those who know my shortcomings, and love me in spite of them.
...for rocking chair time, and kisses and hugs and sweetness throughout the day.
...for being sure, at least, that the outcome will be perfect, whatever it is.

SO very sweet, I love it all.
Just as much as I love you!
Always thinking happy thoughts for you.

Beautiful post (as always!). It's always good to hear a reminder of all the simple, but wonderful, things I too have to be thankful for...that are so easy to forget. And really - where DID your middle child get his goofiness? LOL
