This is where we were last Wednesday, a couple hours after we arrived home from the hospital:
My heart was breaking for my sweet baby, and I was exhausted both from lack of sleep and from worry for her. She came through okay.
This is where we were just two days later:
Let it never be said that children do not bounce back quickly. Thank God for that.
I have been waiting to post an update, as I've been waiting and waiting to finally hear from our doctor. I would call, and he would be in an all-day robotic surgery. (People are always busy with something, right?) (Whatever, Sant said. Robots don't even need surgery.) I would call again, and he would be with a patient. I would call again, and another surgery. The kind lady answering the phone knew me by the sound of my voice this week, and finally she managed to get me through.
Marin's kidney that was operated on last year is lagging in its function, but the other kidney is making up for it. That is fantastic news, to have good function between the two. (Great team effort, kidneys!) Both are flushing well, and the swelling that was on her good kidney was not detected in this procedure. I almost leapt with joy from my moving vehicle when I heard that, but the doctor cautioned me to not get ahead of myself. While it is possible that it could have healed itself, it was also likely not seen because this type of test does not look for it. We have another renal scan in four months, and then we will know more for sure. This was the best case scenario that I was hoping for! No surgery, no bad news. So thankful.

Hooray, pretty girl!
... I meant that for Marin, but you're pretty, too, Molly :)
