Once upon a time there was a baby born as Marin Ann. At some point thereafter her three-year-old brother Jackson began calling her Baby Shawn, for his (shared, with KJ) love of all things Olympic Gymnast Shawn Johnson.
Except it wasn't exactly Baby Shawn. It was Baby Shan, rhyming with Don, because that is Jack's way. Or Shan Baby, at other times. Sometimes he says it so many times in one hour that I think Baby Shan may haul off and belt him.
Shan, he says, Shan! Shan!
Shaaaaan Baby!
Baby Shaaaaaaaaaaannnnn!
SHAN!
Shannnnn.
Oh Shan Baby.
And she smiles and squeals and blows raspberries at him, because at seven months old she has yet to master the phrase ENOUGH ALREADY.
So one day Little Bald Baby Shan noticed a Little Something on her exersaucer (wherein she happily prefers to spend three quarters of her Little Bald Baby Shan Life.)
It was a little beam of light coming in from the nearby window.
Baby Shan was very interested.
And she tried to catch it.
She tried to pick it up with her little fingers.
She tried to catch it, and pick it up, and when it would not oblige, she screamed at it in her Little Baby Shan Scream.
And then finally she noticed the clicking paparazzi noise above her head.
Oh! Uhhh... Hi, Mama! Naaaaah, I wasn't trying to catch that sunlight. Heh heh.
On a side note, besides celebrating her seven month birthday and being re-named last week, Baby Shan also suffered Baby's First Double Ear Infection and learned to...
...sit!
(Soon this house will be mine, all mine! Mwahahaha!)
The end.

SUPER CUTE!!! I love the look she's giving you when she realizes you're taking her photo, too cute! Good job with the sitting up, she's got gymnast-quality tummy muscles for sure!

It' so funny how nicknames come to be. And sitting! She's not letting anything like a little ol' kidney surgery slow her down! She has 2 big brothers to keep up with. :)

She is so beautiful!

That is the most adorable thing I have ever seen. Or heard. Way to go with the sitting, Baby Shan!
Someday I should make a video of how people pronounce "Shawn" where I live. You would laugh for many hours.

I cannot even believe it has been seven months since this little sweety was born. I keep thinking of her as that newborn baby. Molly, she is beautiful.

Aww, she is so cute! Looks just like KJ sometimes.
It's interesting how people pronounce names- in the southwest we pronounce Shawn (or Sean) to rhyme with Don. Hmm, I'm trying to imagine how you pronounce it.... :)

I, too, am curious how you pronounce Shawn...
When my brother was about 2, he got it in his head that my name should be Sarah. My dad would coach him endlessly "say Ju; say Lie" and my brother would respond appropriately until the time came to say them together, then he would scream "Sarah". This went on for over a year until my last sister was born. Weird.
And lastly, Marin is TOO adorable!!! So smiley!

She is definitely KJ's sister (looks so much like him at that age!)
So exciting for her to sit - yet attempting and falling to the side is so cute too! ;)
I can't wait to see all you guys sometime. It feels like forever.

Now I can't stop saying the word Shawn. Or Don.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks Shawn rhymes with Don... So curious to hear how it is pronounced in the Lost A Sock house!
