Every now and then, when posting pictures on this little website, I think to myself, should I really post this? Have I no dignity? The first few images make this one of those entries.
Hold on to your hats!
It's a spring Saturday morning. Skies are blue, breeze is light and refreshing, temps are in the mid-seventies. Kevin and KJ skedaddled off to the University of Notre Dame for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness Lou Holtz and Ara Parseghian coach the annual Blue and Gold game. They took my car (which includes Jack's car seat and stroller,) and that was probably their smartest move.
It means I am stuck in this house.
Because in a great effort to move away from the fighting, screaming, shoeless children next door, I am set to tackle this room today.
It's not usually this bad. Just last night Fisher Price stopped by threw up everywhere. And now I'm left to clean up the mess.
Okay, it is usually this bad. I clean this disaster about once a week. And ten two minutes later it looks just like this again.
This is the Toy/Computer/Catch-all room. It's where the kids drag toys from into the rest of the house play, and where I create awe-inspiring blog entries, pay bills, generate riches on Ebay and Amazon, and relax. It looks relaxing, no?
(Place a bid and that hamper-full could be yours!)
Well, not that side of the room. This is the side of the room where I relax.
I have allowed the desk area to get a smidge out of hand.
Those CD's in the green tub on the desk on the hutch everywhere are currently listed on Amazon.com and will partly fund our Floridian Dream Vacation. The rest of the crap is vital and necessary to running a household in a most disorganized way. Most importantly, that big red coffee mug right in front of the monitor contains the rocket fuel necessary to remedy the ills of this room.
See how well it works?
I've managed to clear it out, and now I get to paint.
With help from the Window Guy.
(Bad parenting what? Doesn't everyone allow their toddlers to play with the cords from the mini-blinds?)
We can start the work right after the Window Guy stops chasing the cat up the stairs.
See the fear.
Feel the fear.
Then RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!
***
Fast-forward two hours.
***
The Window Guy has been napping for just over an hour, which means he's more than half way through with nap one. And I? Have showered. And made more coffee. And blogged.
Do you know what I've painted?
Ding Ding Ding! You're the winner!
I've painted nothing!
Update and pictures (of possibly no progress whatsoever if I manage to dig the umbrella stroller out of the basement and get Jack and I outta here) on Monday-ish.

Hey ... wait ... isn't this right where the husband shows up paints for an hour and then takes all the credit?
You'll get thru it... you're SO close!!!! I'm stuck at the computer getting our alma mader's alumni magazine to press.

Personally, I think getting the desk cleared off gives you a rating of 10+. Just what did you have in that red mug? I need a barrel of it!

Can you please come over and do some organizing at my house? We have our own Window Girl, but please, feel free to bring your's too.

Wow, you rock! I know it must feel good to get all that work done. Now if you can just keep eveyone out of there it will stay that way.

Oh how the Dom loves the blind cords. So much so that I do believe I've uttered the words "Can we just get rid of all the blinds and do curtains?" to Tony.
And yeah, I seriously either need YOU or that MUG at my house and my work desk ASAP.

Holy crap! Just the difference of the desk (which normally isn't that bad) before and after!
Shocking photos!!
P.S. Cute window guy! He's a keeper!

P.S. I will SERIOUSLY hire you to come to my house and do some work.

Hey! I got an idea...
How about you come over to my house and organize it for me (you do a far better job of it than me, I see pictures as PROOF!) and we'll let the little devils make sure the blinds work okay.
Can't wait to see the final product!
